Although a large bird, the Great Hornbill has a top heavy appearance, with it's huge bill and casque. The female bird is much smaller, particularly her bill and casque and has white instead of red eyes but she is otherwise similar to the male. The hornbills spend much of their time in trees, feeding on fruit, especially figs as well as on insects reptiles and other small animals. |
